Miso Steak with Broccoli Slaw

Happy V-Day wannabe foodies!

If I could bottle up all the love I have today for my family, friends and Wesley, and turn it into a sauce it would be this miso
 sauce.

It’s salty, and sweet and complex. It makes everything it touches better.

So on this day full of love, I recommend that you take this little saucy bottle of love and use it. On anything and everything.

But if you can’t think of anything and everything, you can borrow this recipe.

You will need…

4 8 ounce petite filets
1 ½ cups miso  sauce plus 2 extra tablespoons for drizzling

1 package broccoli slaw

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons minced ginger
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Start by placing the meat in a bag with 2 cups of miso sauce and marinate for 2 hours till over night.

While the meat is marinating, combine the broccoli slaw, vinegar, oil, salt, pepper, ginger and sesame seeds in a bowl and toss well.

Let them marinate for an hour.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

When the meat has marinated, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large sauté pan over high heat.

When the oil is very hot, add the steak to the pan and sear on one side until browned and crisp. About 4 to 5 minutes.

Flip the steaks and put them in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes for medium rare.

Remove the steaks from the oven. Place them on a plate and cover with foil. Let them rest for 10 minutes.

When the steak has rested, plate them. Top them with 2 tablespoons of broccoli slaw and drizzle with more miso.

Serve hot.

If your love was a sauce, what would it be?
