friyay happy hour: cinco de mayo margarita montage

since my birthday is may fourth, i’ve always had a special place in my heart for cinco de mayo. naturally, my birthday celebrations often include margaritas and over the years i have made A LOT of them.

i was actually SHOCKED with how MANY different margies i have made and enjoyed over the years worth of friyay happy hours. so, to help you prepare for the big fiesta on sunday, i’ve compiled a little gallery for you of all he best. click on an image below that tickles your fancy and enjoy!

friyay happy hour: pineapple margarita

cinco de drinko, ahem, i mean mayo, is around the corner. which also means my birthday (may 4th) is coming in hot. don’t worry, you still have eight days to get me a really great gift.

i made this margarita for wes today in honor of all the margs i wish i was drinking this birthday/cinco de mayo season. even though this margarita is on the rocks (you could blend it if you prefer) it has a really luscious texture thanks to the pineapple purée.

pineapple margarita

serves: 1 cocktail

prep time: 2 minutes

active time: 1 minute

total time: 3 minutes

ingredients: 4 oz pineapple purée (the fruit of half a pineapple made about 12 oz of pineapple purée). 2 oz tequila. 1 oz triple sec. 1 oz fresh lime juice. lime wheel for garnish. 2 cups ice. cocktail shaker or cocktail glass with spoon & strainer.

start by combining half the ice, the tequila, triple sec, lime juice and pineapple purée in the base of your cocktail shaker or glass.

stir or shake well till everything is well combined. fill your serving glass with the remaining ice.

strain the contents of your shaker or cocktail glass over ice.

garnish wish lime wheel, serve and enjoy.
